Kim Kardashian Sues Melissa Molinaro Old Navy Over Campaign Clone

Kim Kardashian sued Old Navy and its parent company, the Gap Inc., in an L.A. court on Wednesday over a popular Old Navy ad featuring a Kim lookalike, singer-model Melissa Molinaro, US Magazine reports. A commercial, titled, “Super C-U-T-E,” began airing in February and Old Navy is still using some of the promotions, the lawsuit states.

Melissa Molinaro‘s music video-inspired campaign for the company has become a web video viral hit. TMZ reports that Kim is particularly upset Old Navy has also launched a twitter campaign in an attempt to further siphon her fame.

Kim Kardashian is immediately recognisable, and is known for her look and style. Her identity and persona are valuable. When her intellectual property rights are violated, she intends to enforce them,” the lawyer of KK said.

26-years old Reggie Bush who split up from the reality star, 31, Kim Kardashian in March 2010 following a high profile on-again, off-again relationship, was spotted out with Molinaro at trendy Beverly Hills steakhouse. Melissa Molinaro is a Canadian-born, U.S.-based pop singer, actor, choreographer and model.
