Ticker: Ex-Lion Roy Williams suing to get his engagement ring back

Dallas Cowboys receiver Roy Williams just wants his ring back. Not a Super Bowl ring of course (ha!), but his engagement ring.



According to a story from OAOnline.com, the former Lion filed a lawsuit last week asking for the ring he offered to former Miss Texas USA Brooke Daniels. The rock is reportedly valued at $76,000.



Williams apparently mailed the ring to Daniels along with a recorded marriage proposal. He also included $5,000 for school and dental bills and a baseball for her brother. She rejected the proposal and has not returned the ring.



Williams and Daniels dated for nearly a year.



Michael Daniels, Brooke's father and a co-defendant in the lawsuit, has said he has possession of the ring and plans to return it to avoid further legal issues.



An injunction hearing is set for Friday in Odessa, Texas.

LeBron James Girlfriend: Rashard Lewis Publicly Dismisses Rumors

There are a lot of rumors circulating on the Internet that Rashard Lewis might have fooled around with LeBron James' girlfriend, but that is absolutely false according to the Washington forward.



Appearing on a radio show in Houston, Lewis claimed that the rumors had no validity whatsoever, and that he's never even met James' girl.



Before the Lewis rumors began in the finals, it was Delonte West who dominated the off-court LeBron saga with suggestions that he fooled around with Gloria James, or as she's better known, LeBron's mom.

Whatever will we do if one day Jennifer Aniston finally gets it right and we can't bemoan the love life of "Poor Jen" any longer? That day may have finally arrived; it's time to find a new sad-relationship-sack, America.

2. He's just the right amount of famous. Justin isn't more renowned than Jen, which could be a self-esteem blow, but he does have a certain amount of fame cache, so he gets Jen's world. "Jen gets a lot of media attention and I'd hate for her to be with a man who tried to compete with her for the spotlight. It sounds to me like a good match and hope it works out for them."

3. He's smart and funny. Remember John Mayer, Jen's crooner ex who thought he was both smart and funny, but most of the time was just a jackass? Theroux is the opposite. Hoax: Is Kim Kardashian Pregnant?

The OK! story, rapidly picked up by several gossip sites, is "not true," and Kim and Kris are not already building a nursery.
In other words: we're not on bumpwatch just yet. Not convinced yet? Maybe this well help:
"This is crazy! I am NOT pregnant," Kim herself declares on her personal blog .
"Magazines can be so tricky with their wording! The inside states that one day I want a baby! But I'm not pregnant! Kim Kardashian flashes her ring in Monaco

Kim made sure to flash her 20.5 carats in Monaco this weekend, where she and her fiancé attended the Amber Lounge nightclub's benefit fashion show for the 2011 Special Olympics.
Other stars at the event included Prince Albert of Monaco, his fiancée Charlene Wittstock and singer Taio Cruz, who performed his hit song Break Your Heart.


"Monaco is so gorgeous!" Kim tweeted . "Backstage at the Matthew Williamson fashion show! He is amaze! Prince Albert and Charlene here too! About 2 go on stage! I always get nervous." She even tweeted as she and Kris were about to head in to the palace for dinner with Prince Albert.

Eu tenho que admitir uma coisa: sou com-ple-ta-men-te apaixonada pela família real britânica. Na verdade eu sou apaixonada por qualquer família real... e olha que eu não tinha o menor interesse por essas coisas até me mudar pra Inglaterra. Sempre achei estranho países terem famílias reais que não representavam mais nada - afinal a grande maioria das famílias reais européias não detêm mais quase nada de poder político, é mais uma questão de mera tradição. E ao me mudar pra Londres compreendi que essa "mera tradição" não tem nada de irrelevante...

Foi só em Londres que descobri tudo sobre a vida da Princesa Diana e o encantamento que ela produzia em milhões de pessoas. Enquanto vivia por lá, Mohamad Al-Fayed - antigo dono da Harrods e pai de Dodi Al-Fayed, namorado de Diana - entrou com um processo contra o governo britânico pela morte de ambos. Ele sustentava uma teoria da conspiração onde Diana e Dodi foram assassinados a mando da Rainha. .Dava pra sentir a comoção ao redor desse assunto e como a presença de Diana, apesar de anos após sua morte, ainda era fortíssima.

Então não é nenhuma surpresa para mim ao acordar anteontem em Londres e ter TODOS os jornais estampados com o anúncio do casamento do Príncipe William com Kate Middleton. A BBC News 24 (e todos os outros noticiários) constantemente anunciando o casamento como a notícia mais importante do dia e este também sendo o assunto mais importante em todas as conversas ao meu redor ao longo do dia. Kate preenche um vácuo criado pela morte de Diana na mente dos milhões de britânicos (e outros tantos ao redor do mundo!), e obviamente a pressão não será nem um pouco pequena.

Me lembro de ler em Grazias, Looks, Elles e Vogues estórias sobre o estilo de Kate, além de mil e uma capas de jornais falando sobre sua família "plebéia" e estórias (algumas reais, outras inventadas) que relatavam escândalos, intriga, problemas conjugais e ciúmes. Desde que William assumiu seu namoro com Kate o interesse por ela foi constante e em 2007 ela entrou com uma injunção na justiça contra os papparazzi que a assediavam constantemente. Me lembro de pensar "que vida dos infernos" porque a menina não podia sair de casa - havia uma horda constante de fotógrafos plantados na porta de sua casa, eles assediavam os vizinhos perguntando sobre fofocas e causavam um constante engarrafamento no bairro. Pouco tempo depois a Clarence House (nome do prédio que representa a sede da monarquia) anunciou que Kate teria seguranças 24 horas por dia fornecidos pela guarda da Rainha.

A vida de Kate só ficou tranquila depois que ela e William terminaram seu namoro por alguns meses em 2007. Há especulações na mídia que o término do namoro somente aconteceu para que os repórteres largassem do pé de Kate, e no final de 2007 ela e William foram vistos juntos novamente. Logo depois disso William se formou na Academia Militar e pediu para servir em uma base no norte do país de Gales, uma área bem remota do país e razoavelmente isolada. William chamou Kate para morar com ele e, num momento nunca antes visto na história real do Reino Unido, um príncipe estabeleceu residência com sua namorada sem qualquer vestígio de casamento no ar. Sinal dos novos tempos!

Acho que é um pouco difícil para muitos de nós entendermos essa relação com uma família real. Afinal a nossa só durou dois reinados e não temos essa tradição enraizada na nossa cultura. Porque ela não é uma relação que nem as que temos com celebridades, sabe? De querer imitar (sejam as roupas ou o corte de cabelo) ou simpatizar com o estilo daquela pessoa. É uma coisa muito mais distante, bem coisa de 'conto de fadas' mesmo mas que, ao mesmo tempo, representa a coletividade, as tradições, a essência do país. E o mais engraçado é que muita gente pode até ser contra a família real, mas quase todo mundo é super antenado nos modelitos que Kate usa (ou que Diana usava)...

as comparações com Diana (que já haviam começado quando eles começaram a namorar anos atrás) tendem a se intensificar...

William possivelmente será o novo rei britânico - estudiosos da família real vêem que, após a morte da Rainha Elizabeth há uma grande possibilidade do Príncipe Charles abdicar o trono em favor de seu filho - e esse casamento terá o peso desse título pairando no ar. Por isso mesmo - e também pelo furor que um casamento real normalmente causa nos britânicos - todos estão já em clima de festa. Hoje mesmo vendo o BBC Breakfast (como se fosse o Bom Dia Brasil do Reino Unido) havia um segmento enoooorme falando sobre a memorabilia que já é vendidas nas ruas: canecas, camisetas, pratos decorativos, santinhos... E até mesmo um dos jornais de maior circulação do país teve em sua capa estampada que o casamento injetaria um bilhão de libras na economia!

Pra gente é só um casamento, mas pra eles é uma aquecida na economia, o começo de uma nova era (já que William será o novo rei), e principalmente o nascimento de uma nova style icon? No próximo post farei uma análise do estilo de Kate só pra vocês!
