It seems like only yesterday that Chris Brown created controversy after his much anticipated interview with Good Morning America last week. Not only did he smash the window with a chair from his dressing room, but he left the building without a shirt and without finishing the online segment of the interview.
But it seems ABC7 has put the past quickly behind them and has permitted Chris Brown to still perform in the first results show for Dancing With the Stars. But some people associated with the show were not too thrilled with this decision...
Cheryl Burke, a professional dancer on the show, came out recently to being a victim of abuse. She believes ABC7 is sending a message that reckless behavior is okay and quickly forgotten. Cheryl said, "As a victim of domestic violence, I don't agree with him coming on the show, but it's out of my control."
Host of Dancing with the Stars Tom Bergeron wasn't too thrilled either. Being a person responsible for the interviews along with Brooke Burke, he said to Ryan Seacrest on the radio, “I did tell the producers it may be to their advantage to not have me interview him because my natural tendency would be to say something...Don’t put me in a position where you are asking me to not say something, because I really won’t do that.”
Though the media is very forgiving, I think it's too soon for Chris Brown to be given the "OK" as if nothing has happened. ABC7, a family network is encouraging abusive, ill-tempered behavior by permitting Chris Brown to perform on a family show. Though his performance was AMAZING, certain people (
