Jackie Cooper, the child star from the 1930s who went on to a long career in front of the camera and behind it, has died at the age of 88 after a brief illness. The tabloids did not predict his death, but since he was a TV star, I expect either the Globe or the low rent Examiner will have a cover story about him next week.
