The Boulder JCC‘s Maimonides Wellness Center and the Anti-Defamation League’s Boulder Officeare pleased to sponsor a showing of the moving documentary film “Off and Running” on Wednesday, June 15 at 7:00 pm at the Boulder JCC.
With white, Jewish lesbian mothers and two adopted brothers, Brooklyn teen Avery grows up in a unique and loving household. When her curiosity about her African-American roots grows, Avery embarks on a complicated exploration of race, identity and family that threatens to distance her from her parents and Jewish identity. Therapist Diane Israel and Boulder ADL Director Amy Stein will lead a discussion following the film on identity, culture and Jewishness.
