Cystic Fibrosis

A GROUP of 40 swimmers will be embarking on a charity swim in order to help close The Cystic Fibrosis Trust’s £6 million funding shortfall.
The swimmers, which include men, women and children, will swim the equivalent of the English Channel crossing in the waters of Grasmere on Sunday (June 26).
Funds raised from the event will go directly to the Cystic Fibrosis and the swimmers are looking to raise £10,000.
Grasmere Channel Swim organiser, Angela Clark said: “It is vital that we all do our bit to try to lessen the charity’s huge deficit. Without the charity’s help, sufferers like my 13-year-old niece Lucy would not be able to access daily support to manage her condition.”
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust recently released a statement stating that public donations for research and trials of new gene technology to protect patient’s lungs from fatal damages had fallen short. The news comes as the charity also struggles to meet a £6 million shortfall.
