Jessica Simpson


Singer-turned-fashion mogul Jessica Simpson has been confirmed to mentor upcoming fashion designers on a new reality series called "Fashion Star."
Jessica Simpson, who has already built a gigantic clothing empire worth nearly $1 billion, is all set to join the new NBC gig as a celebrity mentor to help the aspiring designers. In a press release, NBC announced yesterday that the network is extremely excited that 30-year-old Jessica Simpson will be a part of their new upcoming fashion series titled "Fashion Star", which will be hosted by Elle Macpherson.
The new reality series will premiere this fall on NBC. In an official statement, NBC executive vice-president said, "NBC is delighted to work with singer, designer, actress and pop culture icon Jessica Simpson. With an almost billion dollar lifestyle brand under her belt she is sure to be an excellent mentor to our up-and-coming designers."
Jessica Simpson and supermodel Elle Macpherson will joined the show in which 14 upcoming designers will compete for the chance to win a multi-million dollar contract to launch their own brands in three of America's largest retailers.
The interesting reality series will began with an exciting fashion show, featuring musical performances, dancers and models in front of live studio audience. The contestant s will be given weekly challenges for which they can seek help from their celeb mentor Jessica Simpson.
Buyers from each of the retailers will serve as the judges. The items on "Fashion Star" will become the future of their respective stores and will make the next fashion trends for consumers.
Throughout her career, Jessica Simpson has been involved in many different jobs. The talented Simpson has tried her guts from singing to acting and also began her own line of perfume, shoes and other accessories.
Because of her successful clothing empire and great fashion sense, Jessica Simpson is considered as the most appropriate choice for the reality TV show. On the NBC show, Simpson will skillfully help hopeful fashion designers and discovering their talents.
Back in 2007, Jessica Simpson launched her collection and her mother Tina is the co-creative director. Recently, Jessica Simpson teamed up with her younger sister Ashlee to launch a new clothing line for teenage girls that will include sportswear, denim and active-wear.
The multi-talented Jessica Simpson is all set to tie the knot with former NFL player Eric Johnson. Previously, Simpson was married to first husband Nick Lachey and divorce in 2005 after six years.
