NHL Trade Rumors

Several Trades Could Shake the 2011 NHL Draft to Its Core
With the 2011 NHL Draft just a few hours away, the NHL trade rumor oven is heating up, and the speculation is flying.
Thursday saw the Philadelphia Flyers dismantle their core by sending both sniper Jeff carter and captain Mike Richards out for young prospects and picks, and from reports, it’s not over yet.
Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News is reporting that the Flyers may be interested in moving up in the draft to acquire Swedish right wing Gabriel Landeskog from the Florida Panthers at No. 3.
With the Los Angeles Kings going all in for the title this year by trading for former Flyer Mike Richards, there have been talks about who the Kings can get to pick up the offensive slack that will be left when the Kings deal Ryan Smyth.
Dennis Bernstein of Fourth Period Magazine is saying that Los Angeles will be in the hunt for either veteran left wing Simon Gagne or Jussi Jokinen to build a stellar second line that Richards can center.
On the lighter side of NHL draft day rumors, the newly formed Winnipeg organization will beannouncing their official team name before they pick at No. 7 during tonight’s draft. Let’s hope all those people who ran out to buy Winnipeg Jets gear don’t get stuck looking like fools!
