Highlights from Berks County high school musicals in one show — tonight only!

See the stage stars of tomorrow at the Seventh Annual YNOT Awards at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, in the Sovereign Performing Arts Center, 136 N. Sixth St., Reading.

Charles J. Adams III and Barry Ciabattoni will host the show.

The YNOT Awards ("Tony" spelled backwards) honors and showcases the musical-theater talent of high school students throughout Berks County.

It's an evening packed with 29 performances from eight participating schools.

Tickets for the YNOT Awards are $15 each and are available at the Sovereign Performing Arts Center box office. Call 610-898-7200

Our judges have evaluated the shows, and 15 "Most Memorable" awards will be presented.

This program was created to showcase high school musical talent.

It was not intended to be a competition but a way of bringing these talented students together to perform on the most prestigious stage in Berks County.

They are awarded "Most Memorable" because that is what their performances were to three evaluators.

The co-directors and founders, Jeannette DeAngelo and Dani Merkel, feel the real award is in just being recognized and being able to perform in this great venue. That is why we have a non-stop evening of amazing performances.
